This year’s Autumn Concert saw an impressive variety of works performed by our senior ensembles. From the moving and beautiful For the Fallen by Douglas Guest performed by the Joint Chamber Choir, the theme from Schindler’s List by John Williams (played by Camerata, featuring solo violinist Anisha, 10L), lullabies by Novello and Whitacre, Bernstein’s Somewhere sung by Cantores and Holst’s Ave Maria from Chapel Choir, to the more energetic Frolicsome Finale by Britten (Camerata), The Proclaimers’ 500 Miles joyfully played by Brass Band and Bizet’s Carmen Suite No.1; the audience was taken on an emotional journey. The standard was consistently high with a particularly poised solo by Naomi (U6F) who played Fauré’s Élégie on the cello accompanied by First Orchestra. The evening finished with a fantastic performance of the theme from 633 Squadron played by Concert Band. Congratulations to all involved for a wonderful evening of music!
