GCHQ runs an annual competition to encourage Year 8 students to consider careers in cyber security. 1600 teams from schools all over the UK entered the qualifying round of the competition in January. Only 128 qualified for the semi-final, including team ‘Bananya Cats’ from St Helen’s. The semi-final was a tense and nail-biting affair as teams jostled for position on the leader board. After the competition the team received their badges and certificates.
