We are very proud of Lucy (9K) who won Oxfordshire's prestigious Felix Byam Shaw Award for her county cricket performances.
Oxfordshire Cricket held their annual Performance Awards evening on Saturday at the Wormsley Cricket Ground, celebrating performances and achievements by those who have represented the county over the course of the 2019 season. The evening closed with the presentation of the Felix Byam Shaw Award, which is presented to the player who has most displayed 'the desire to succeed through hard work and a selfless attitude, and the willingness to go that extra mile for the team'.
Lucy was one of five players nominated for the award by the county managers and coaches across all the age groups for both boys and girls. Lucy had shown "unrivalled enthusiasm and commitment to cricket, both in terms of her own development and that of her teammates", and "it is very clear that her commitment levels were outstanding".
And, to much acclaim, Lucy was announced as the winner of the Felix Byam Shaw Award for 2019.
Lucy played a total of 39 matches for Oxfordshire this season, for the Under 13, Under 15 and Under-17 sides. She scored a total of 598 runs for the county - more than any other player across all the age-groups for both boys and girls. She scored half-centuries for both the Under 13s and the Under 15s, and appeared in the Oxford Mail on a number of occasions - most notably in July.
