On the evening of 4 March the Science Atrium was transformed into the annual Jazz and Blues Café, very much a highlight of the musical year. Big Band opened and closed the evening with a range of repertoire from jazz classics by Duke Ellington, to the crowd pleasing Tequila. Ensembles from year 10 and the saxophone groups treated the audience to pieces such as the toe-tapping Puttin’ on the Ritz and Bon Jovi's classic Livin’ on a Prayer. The numerous talented soloists ranged from trombone to piano, and as ever Olivier's incredible food was enjoyed by all. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by audience and performers alike, making us all look forward to the Jazz Afternoon in the summer.
