I was pleased to take part in the Trafalgar Day celebrations at Windsor Castle on Sunday 15 October. I attended two training weekends beforehand and was happy to be selected as a member of the Colour Party Guard - that meant that we were at the front of the parade (just behind the Cadet Band) as we marched through Windsor and into the Castle through Henry VIII gate. 350 Cadets (both Royal Marines and Sea cadets) took part in the event to commemorate Nelson’s famous victory over the French and Spanish in 1805. My section of the parade was inspected by the Admiral who is responsible for Windsor Castle. My parents and Grandfather came to watch, with my Grandfather wearing my Great Grandfather's medals from World War 1.
