This term’s Year 9 and 10 Thinking Supper was held at St Helen's and the topic was gene editing of embryos. The topics of discussion looked at whether or not this is ethical as well as the potential health, scientific and legal implications.
‘The biology thinking supper with Radley was focused on the topic of genetic modification in embryos to potentially provide immunity to HIV. Throughout the evening we discussed the subject with eight questions to prompt ideas and a news article to refer to. At the end of the night, each table presented their thoughts. Not only was this a highly engaging topic of conversation, the food was excellent too.’
