Welcome from the Head

School is about opportunity – to be in an environment that values curiosity, perseverance and relationships, celebrates progress and aspiration, and empowers girls to achieve success on their own terms.

St Helen and St Katharine is an exceptional school. We combine high academic aspiration with a wide range of co-curricular activities, all underpinned by humour and kindness. We are justifiably proud of our fantastic students and all they achieve. Innovation, creativity and a love of learning are evident throughout the school both inside and outside the classroom.

Many families first visit us because of our excellent academic reputation. Indeed, our results speak for themselves, with students consistently progressing to leading universities in the UK and abroad. Yet life here is about much more than grades. Visitors quickly sense the school’s energy – the strength of relationships, the breadth of opportunity, and the expertise, warmth and professionalism of our staff.

Our unwavering commitment to pastoral care and the development of personal values is at the heart of everything we do. We take the time to know each student, understanding who she is and how best to support her as she grows. Through a strong sense of belonging and a shared culture of kindness and respect, our students feel supported, challenged and inspired to be their best.

I believe passionately in the power of all-girls’ education to develop confident, capable young women who go on to make a positive difference in the world. It is a privilege to lead this remarkable school – one at which I previously taught, and where my own daughter was a proud HelKat. Seeing the impact of a St Helen’s education, and the lifelong affection our students hold for the school and for one another, is a constant reminder of what makes this community so special.

I hope this website gives you a glimpse of life at St Helen’s. However, there is no substitute for visiting in person. I warmly invite you to meet our exceptional students and staff, explore our beautiful campus and experience for yourself what it means to succeed on her terms.
