Every week, during our Whole School assembly, Sports Captain Alice (L6) reads out the most recent highlights in sport throughout the school. Here is the sports roundup from this week (25 June 2025):
‘Well done’ to the Year 9 and 10 athletes who came second in the region last week with the Year 7 and 8 placing 5th in the track and field cup.
A huge congratulations to the U17 cricket team who won the national plate on Monday beating Sedbergh in the final. Some great cricket on display.
‘Well done’ to the U15 cricket team who placed 3rd at the national 100 ball cup on Tuesday.
‘Well done’ Year 7 and 8 cricketers for winning all your games against Downe House last week and one win and two losses against Dragon School on Saturday.
Hard luck to the U15 tennis team for losing the county final last Thursday to a very strong Oxford High team. ‘Well done’ U14 tennis players in the end of season tournament last week placing 2nd and 4th out of 6 teams and well done to the U13 tennis teams for placing 1st, 2nd and 6th in their end of season tournament against other schools.
‘Well done’ to Freya Hunt for representing U21 England lacrosse last week in the United World Games placing second with her team.
‘Well done’ Cici Huepfl for currently taking part in the U17 European pentathlon championships in Barcelona this week.
Good luck to Emily Brudenell who is participating in the Dance world finals in Burgos Spain next week.
