Students share their thoughts after performing in a dance-themed Wind and Brass Concert.
Emma (Y6)
“It was fun to perform with Brass Band in front of audiences. I really enjoyed the whole evening. It was lovely to hear so many pieces in different dance themes. The jazz pieces were my absolute favourites. I also adored the saxophone and clarinet performances. I am definitely looking forward to the Wind and Brass Concert next year.
Gigi (Y11)
“The Wind and Brass Concert provides a great playing opportunity every year for students from across every year group. It is also a really fun time for wind and brass pupils to be able to play in a welcoming environment and show their support and be able to listen to other ensembles and solos. The dance theme gave the concert a really enjoyable and fun tone, with an exciting range of genre and style. The concert varied from bassoon solos to a brass band and was fun to both play in and listen to. The dance theme allowed the audience to both hear the music and see the dance it represented which made for an amazing evening.”
Music Scholar (U6)
“This year’s Wind and Brass concert had the theme of ‘Dance’ and allowed students from Juniors to Sixth Form to showcase their performances. The concert was packed full of soloists and ensembles, ranging from the Can Can to the Theme from Rocky and we had the opportunity to listen to multiple student-coached ensembles. Overall, this was a lively and enjoyable concert, with everyone playing at an incredibly high standard, and I look forward to next year’s Wind and Brass Concert.”
