Year 7 students were invited to join the Outdoor Learning team at a campfire to share a fun experience.
The students headed over to the campfire at Church Farm in their Form groups where they spent time reflecting on their first few months at St Helen’s as well as making plans and thinking about intentions for the remainder of their time in Year 7.
Each Form enjoyed some friendly competition by participating in a short round of Frisbee golf before retiring to the campfire to toast marshmallows and make s’mores. This activity provides time and space to chat about the things that individuals have found different and occasionally challenging as they have adapted to new routines since starting Year 7 in September.
Individuals share their ‘Top Tips’ for being organised with books and PE kits, making friends, clubs and societies to join, when and where to do your homework, how to get help and who to ask and of course, their favourite lunches. They also took time to consider what they would say to their ‘younger self’ at the end of their primary school days, now they have had time to explore and enjoy the opportunities of being a member of the SHSK Senior School.
