‘Team Haribo’ represented St Helen’s brilliantly in the independent schools category with 10,000 points.
The CyberFirst Girls Competition aims to inspire girls interested in technology to pursue a career in cyber security, and Team Haribo represented the school brilliantly in this national competition.
This annual team event run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) comprises a set of puzzles and tech challenges for girls aged 12-13 to solve – from cryptography and logic, to artificial intelligence and networking. This year’s students were very highly motivated, with 15 teams puzzling at lunchtimes, evenings and weekends in a very close race which culminated in a tight finish. Students Elizabeth, Melissa, Emily and Charlotte (Year 8) said it was really fun getting the clues and trying to work out the answers.
