GCSE Mandarin students travelled to the Sichuan Grand restaurant in Oxford for a taster of Chinese cuisine and culture.
The trip was a fantastic opportunity to explore Chinese culture by tasting authentic Chinese food; they also participated in some karaoke! Amy (Y11) said, “The food was delicious; we ate things like dumplings, spring rolls and pork belly, and sang songs in Mandarin and English. It was really fun because I got to try traditional Chinese food and sing and dance to songs!”
Erina (Y10) was equally equally enthusiastic: “In the three hours we spent there, we tried delicious traditional dishes ranging from sweet and sour pork to chilli chicken and took advantage of the karaoke booth, which both teachers and students enjoyed. This school trip proved to be incredibly memorable and definitely a favourite, marked by unique experiences we wouldn’t have been presented with otherwise.”
