Year 10 Shropshire Residential

Hannah Finch Noyes

Year 10 geographers visited Shropshire on Thursday 30th April for an overnight residential at Preston Montford Field Studies Centre.

Students spent the first day exploring the success of flood management strategies in Shrewsbury using techniques such as questionnaires and flood risk mapping. On Friday 1st May they visited the beautiful Carding Mill Valley to explore how the Ash Brook River changed with distance downstream. It was great for students to get in the river and see first hand how river processes have shaped the landscape from their studies in the classroom.
