‘HelKats are transported to and from their school, which is a few miles south of Oxford, by a network of buses which covers six counties. But their parents are willing to send them from far and wide for the excellent education, with 62 per cent of the latest A-level results graded A*-A and 75 per cent of GCSEs scoring 9-8.
That offering has now been expanded, so students can study food and nutrition at GCSE and business at A-level; and the second has not only led to the appointment of a head of economics, business and enterprise, but to its devotees enrolling for competitions on national and international stages, including ones for investors at Wharton and Harvard. (A steely Year 10 team reached the national finals of the Tycoon Enterprise Challenge last year and pitched an idea to a Dragons’ Den panellist.)
The girls love nothing more than pitting themselves against their peers: two won Best Concept awards in the 2025 Bafta Young Game Designers competition; and the cineastes, whose new club, The HelKats Filming Co, record concerts and drama productions across the school, triumphed at the Young Film Academy’s 10 Shot Film Awards.

And she’s a firm believer in trying something new. In fact, having recently taken up the saxophone, she even joined the big band for last year’s Christmas Celebration Assembly.’
