Michaelmas term saw our enthusiastic U12, U13, and U14 teams take part in competitive county tournaments.
We were delighted to welcome Mr Nevard, Head of DT and a Wales Indoor Hockey player, to the team this term. His expertise has been invaluable, particularly for our U16 squad. Under his guidance, the U16s triumphed in the county indoor tournament and advanced to the regional competition.
Their success didn’t stop there – our U16 team also claimed victory in the outdoor county tournament, earning another chance to compete at the regional level.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to launch a Year 7 hockey club next term, giving our younger players the opportunity to develop their skills and get involved in the sport.

Despite a tough start to the indoor hockey tournament with a narrow 2-1 loss to the
home team, KES and a 2-0 defeat to SWBGS, the team kept pushing, even once we
knew nationals were out of reach. Our final match against Bradfield College was the
standout moment for me, as we jumped to a 4–0 lead by halftime before holding on for
a tense 4–2 finish. From my spot in goal, some of our short-corner routines were
honestly brilliant, and watching the team work well together at U16 for one of the last
times was a highlight of the tournament. As a goalie, being able to see the whole game
in front of me made it even clearer how hard everyone worked and I’m sure I’m not the
only one who can’t wait for next year.
