This year’s theatre trip to see Wicked brought together a wide range of theatre loving students, from Y10 studying GCSE Music, to students from Y9 to Lower Sixth.
We journeyed to the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London for an evening filled with iconic soundtracks performed by the amazing new cast. Alongside bright designs and great, although pricey, interval snacks.
The show itself was a whirlwind of colour, filled with humour and emotion.
“The songs, dancing and costumes were overwhelmingly beautiful, and the trip was an enjoyable break from revision” -Zihan (Lower Sixth)
“My favourite moment was seeing the acrobatics of the monkey characters alongside the fantastic staging and lighting. I also particularly enjoyed being able to see the conductor in the music pit from my seat, as it provided a real insight into the hard work the musicians are doing behind the scenes”
-Lucy (Lower Sixth)
The evening of fun didn’t end as the curtain went down, instead continuing with an excitable coach journey home full of sing-alongs and enthusiasm, despite getting back to school just after midnight. I’m sure everyone can agree that the songs will remain stuck in our heads for a while – a perfect reminder of an unforgettable trip.
