Every year, students vote for the annual charity they would like St Helen and St Katharine to raise funds for.
Students are invited to choose between three different charities during assembly and this year, the chosen charity is Long Covid Kids. This is a charity which helps children across the UK (including one of our own students) affected by Long Covid, a condition which develops as a result of Covid-19. The symptoms can impact many areas of everyday function such as fatigue and shortness of breath.
The two other choices were: Flexicare, which offers a free, fully flexible, specialised sitting service for families who have children with disabilities; and Down’s Syndrome Oxford, which provides information, support and activities for children and adults with Down’s Syndrome and their families living in Oxfordshire.
Although Long Covid Kids is our official chosen charity for this year, all three of the nominated organisations will benefit from our fundraising activities.
