We are delighted to feature in the Tatler Schools Guide 2026.

Tatler says that our wonderful school ‘delivers on multiple fronts – including sport.’ Read the full entry below.

“One father says ‘moving his daughter here was the best thing we ever did.’ Other parents love the ‘passion and the gusto of all the staff’ and praise ‘an excellent reputation’ balanced by ‘amazing sports facilities, drama and theatre productions, a thriving music department, nourishing extracurriculars, an excellent social scene and more.’ In short, this is a school that delivers on multiple fronts – including sport.”

More than 100 of its girls play at county level or above, and woe betide the team bowling against its formidable cricketers or facing its footballers. As for the educational offering, a new Helena Academic Programme underlines a commitment to enrichment through a series of lectures and activity recommendations, as well as giving the students a chance to present independent research at a showcase evening. The outdoor learning department encourages girls to step out of their comfort zones via orienteering, white-water rafting or scuba-diving; and ahead of the 125th anniversary in 2028, a bursary appeal has been launched, inviting parents and alumni to contribute to the school’s fund for families who would otherwise be unable to afford school fees.

STEM subjects are popular – 43 per cent of leavers opt for related university courses – and among new changes are the introduction of A-levels in both business and economics and a GCSE in food and nutrition, as well as the arrival from Heathfield of Sarah Rollings as new head. With her previous experience at St Helen and St Katharine’s as director of sport, she’ll certainly be primed to hit the ground running.”
