Job Description
We are seeking to hire a dedicated and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join our team on a casual basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including administration, front-of-house duties, event coordination, security, maintenance, and general portering services. This role ensures the smooth running of operations when the main school reception is closed, with a hands-on approach that involves liaising directly with customers who use the school’s facilities for external bookings.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare the venue and equipment, including managing setup and teardown, to meet booking requirements efficiently and safely while maintaining professional day-to-day operations.
- Welcome organisers and suppliers upon arrival, confirming booking details and reviewing safety instructions.
- Address operational issues, acting as the main point of contact for customer and visitor enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Manage the front door and assist with guest arrivals for events and performances.
- Handle minor maintenance issues and assist with emergencies, coordinating with the on-site Caretaker as needed.
- Assist with car park marshalling when required.
- Ensure all buildings are securely locked at the end of shifts, checking that windows/roof lights are closed and lights are turned off.
This role is offered on a casual contract with no fixed hours. Work will be scheduled on an “as required” basis, with hours and days varying according to the school’s needs. Hours may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
