The annual Independent Schools Tennis Association tournament for U13, U15 and U19 teams took place at Eton at the beginning of July. It was an intense four days of competition for our three teams.

U19 team of Kitty, Josie, Liv and Esme results:

  • Josie and Esme reached the Loveband Plate first round
  • Kitty and Liv reached the Loveband Plate Semi Finals

U15 team of Mishel, Tilly, Sophie C and Phoebe results:

  • Mishel and Tilly were runners up in Springthorpe Cup for the second year in a row – and played fantastically well
  • Sophie and Phoebe reached the Asbury Bailey Plate KO Quarter Finals after a tough group

U13 team of Ellie, Jasmine, Florence and Scarlett results:

  • Ellie and Jasmine were the Ralph Cake Plate runners-up
  • Florence and Scarlett made it to the Ralph Cake Trophy Boxes (the top 20 in the country)

Well done all of you!

Commenting on day one of the tournament, Scarlett (U13 team) said:’ On Monday, we competed in the ISTA tennis doubles competition alongside the U15s; it was an amazing experience. On the first day the weather started off well and we were divided into our boxes. Flo and I got off to a tough start playing KGS pair 1. Unfortunately, we lost, but we kept going and managed to make up for it by winning our other three matches. We finished 2nd in our box which meant we had progressed into the trophy knock outs. Ellie and Jasmine had a very unlucky first day, playing amazingly well and facing some very tough competition. They unfortunately lost three and won two meaning they went on to play in the plate on day 2. Despite the weather turning on us towards the end of the afternoon, we really enjoyed our first day – especially the hot nachos and sweets at the end!’

Speaking on the second day of the tournament, Ellie (U13 team) said: ‘The second day was tough but both pairs did very well despite the rain. Flo and Scarlett came 4th in their trophy box but unfortunately didn’t qualify for the quarter finals, but both played amazingly. Jasmine and I won our plate box in the morning and got through to the finals with a close loss finishing runners up in the plate. It’s been a really fun season, and we can’t wait for what next year will bring!’
