Friday afternoon Astronomy Club made its debut this year as students from Middle School and Sixth Form explored the skies and expanded our knowledge of the universe.
In winter, we used Dr Chater’s Dobsonian telescope to observe Jupiter and its moons whilst enjoying hot chocolate. As the evenings became brighter, we collected and edited images of nebulae and galaxies using the National Schools Observatory.
In the summer, we were thrilled to make use of the Vespera Astrocamera, kindly donated by the Parents Association, to take stunning live images of the sun while sitting on the quad. We are so excited to use it for more projects next year! All of this came alongside lab-based activities and lessons on cosmology, exoplanets, black holes and more.
