On Friday 8 December, Stuart Lawrence made a return to St Helen’s to talk to students in Years 5, 6 and 8 about his newest book for young people, Growing Up Black in Britain. Students in Year 8 were also joined by members of nearby Larkmead School.
Stuart talked about how his life changed after his brother, Stephen, was killed in an unprovoked racist attack in April 1993 and how he now works with young people all over the world to promote a message of love, positivity and respect.
He talked about many of the inspirational people he has met on his journey and candidly answered questions from students about his life and how he has dealt with adversity.
