Lower School Diwali celebration

Dressed in traditional saris, students told the story of Diwali during Lower School chapel.

They also shared their experiences celebrating Diwali, which included fireworks, music and lots of amazing food. Read the thoughts of one student below:

We find it a privilege to be able to celebrate Diwali with family, friends and the rest of our Hindu community. When we think of Diwali, we think of light, fire, colour, hope and most importantly, food. In any India-originating festival, one thing anyone can look forward to is filling their bellies with community-made, home-cooked food. To celebrate Diwali, everyone in our community lights lamps on the inside and/or outside of our home. This tradition has been in practice for many millennia. We love celebrating our culture and loved telling Lower School about it!
