Try indoor climbing

SHSK School

St Helen’s students recently gave indoor climbing a go as part of our ‘Try’ series.

The ‘Try’ series – an opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones and try something new. So far, over 100 students have participated in activities such as white-water rafting, scuba diving, skiing, climbing and mountain biking. The ‘Try’ series will continue to evolve seasonally, offering even more students the chance to experience a variety of activities.

Lizzie (Y7) shared: ‘On the evening of Friday 17 January, a group of St Helen’s students went to Rockstar Climbing in Swindon to try out rope climbing and to have some fun. In small groups, we learnt how to belay and we did climbs rated from 3b(easier) to 6a(harder). Some girls even tried a climb named Bumblebee (named after the black and yellow coloured holds). It was really fun and lots of new skills were learnt!’
