Years 7-9 orienteering club recently took part in their first event at Hill End and did so well.
The courses range in difficulty from white (aimed at pre-teen beginners), through yellow, orange, red, light green and up.
Lucy and Phena entered the white and came first in a really fast time. They then had a go at the yellow course as well.
Natasha (Y10) who has been supporting the group, entered the light green and came 25th out of 37 entries.
The other students entered orange and their results were:
Susannah and Emma – 5/25
Ariadne and Eddie – 9/25
Lizzie and Nellie – 10/25
Megan, Hannah and Evelyn – 14/25
Amaya and Ashwika – 21/25
Edith and Cora (after a disrupted start due to losing something on the course) – 24/25
The students enjoyed the event and “running for a reason”. I’m really proud of them and I’m looking forward to our next event.
