Job description

We are looking to recruit a enthusiastic individual to join our Catering team to assist with our busy lunch service.

 

The Catering team produces around 900 meals each day for students and staff. Our Kitchen Porters play a vital role in the smooth and efficient delivery of this service. They carry out a wide range of essential duties, contributing not only to daily lunch operations but also to hospitality events as required.

 

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation, the hospitality industry and who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, with a willingness to learn.

 

This position is an permanent full-time role working 6.45am-2.45pm, Monday to Friday during term-time plus 3 weeks during the School holidays. For the right candidate we may be able to offer some flexibility over the timing of the hours worked.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained
  • Help with food deliveries
  • Provide front of house assistance during the service to replenish food counters and equipment
  • Help to maintain cleanliness in all kitchen equipment and areas are clean and tidy
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure a harmonious working environment
