Entry into Sixth Form (16+)

A registration form should be completed and returned to the Admissions Office with the appropriate fee. Once your daughter is registered you will automatically receive details about the entrance procedure. The deadline for registering for 2023 entry is Friday 14 October 2022. Registrations after this date are possible, and a late round of interviews and assessments will take place in March 2023. Please get in touch with the Admissions team at if you are considering making a late application. Please note that late applicants could not be considered for a scholarship or bursary as this process concludes in November.

Entrance interviews

Registered candidates will have two interviews; one with both the Headmistress and the Head of Sixth Form and the second with another senior member of staff. Candidates are also required to complete a verbal reasoning test. Interviews take place, by arrangement with the Admissions team. Late applications are acceptable, subject to the availability of subjects to be studied. Interviews for late applicants take place in March.

Offers and accepting a place

Candidates will be informed of their conditional offer shortly following inteview. All offers require at least five 9-7 (A* to A) grades at (I)GCSE and a 9-7 or 9A* or A) in the subjects the candidate plans to study at A level.  Letters confirming offers will be sent in late August, following receipt of (I)GCSE results.

Welcome to St Helen’s

After accepting a place students are invited to the School on two occasions: one in June/July when they will have an afternoon of activities and a chance to meet their form and their form tutor, and one in September, the day before the beginning of term.

Bursaries and scholarships

St Helen and St Katharine was founded on the desire to provide a broad, balanced and academically excellent education for its pupils, a goal to which we remain committed. Our scholarship and bursary provision has been established for many years and owes much to the assistance and generosity of benefactors and friends of the School, to whom we remain indebted. In 2012 our scholarship provision, which seeks to recognise and reward excellence, was extensively reviewed and extended and full details can be found on our Scholarships page. Information on bursaries, including transformational Sixth Form bursaries, can also be found. Please note that applications for bursaries may only be made during the main Sixth Form admissions process in October.
