The Beyond clubs and societies fair held this September was an exciting new addition to the start of term. Clubs ranging from sailing and gymnastics to astronomy, creative writing, Chapel Choir and so much more were represented by current members and teachers who are really passionate about their subject or activity.
It was great to see the Science Atrium packed with students from Juniors to Sixth Form interested in being involved in so many lunchtime and after-school activities. The fair was an amazing opportunity to discover new hobbies and interests by signing up to take part in activities that may never have been considered by many people before.
Many of the clubs are led by Sixth Form students; last year I helped to run the Junior Chemistry Club. The Juniors were all so enthusiastic about science and it was amazing experience to be involved in leading activities with other Sixth Form students. Societies are also an amazing opportunity to explore specific subjects that you study at A level, in Lower Sixth I was a member of the Geography Society and MedSoc which were both really useful in preparation of my university applications this year.
