Bug Club

Rachel James, Head of Biology

We had an exciting delivery of stick insects and Eri silk moth caterpillars as Bug Club welcomed its newest members.

We have set up a ‘Bug Club’ which runs weekly for students to come along and learn about the insects, their lifecycles and how to care for them. We have enjoyed handling them and watching them grow and develop, including seeing our caterpillars spin their distinctive silk cocoons and watching the pink winged stick insects moult their exoskeleton from the wingless juvenile form to the winged adults.

We are very grateful to the Parents’ Association for their generous support to allow us to set up this new venture and we are excited to continue to develop Bug Club for our students!
