Condover Hall – Year 7 residential 2025

SHSK School

In mid-March, students travelled to Shropshire for an unforgettable two-night action-packed residential.

Students kayaked, trapezed, juggled, fired arrows, climbed the high ropes and negotiated the dreaded laser maze. All of the amazing activities were built around developing key skills, such as teamwork, and inspiring a sense of community as they got to know one another better as a year group. New friends and lasting memories were made.

Condover Hall is a special trip that many of our older students – and even alumnae – fondly recollect as one of the highlights during their time at St Helen’s.

Year 7 students shared their thoughts on this year’s trip to Condover Hall:

‘I learned about overcoming challenges while completing the trapeze and aerial trek. In order to get through it, I used the encouragement of my group, went slowly and concentrated, and I was able to complete the trek and even do it again and enjoy myself’

‘I overcame challenges when I went into a tunnel while caving. I was able to get through it by singing and with the help of my friends’

When asked what strengths they learned, students said: I am good at working in a team, it was good to try something new, I am good at challenging things, I can overcome my fears, I have more confidence in myself, and I have friends to support me when I want to give up.
