The Big Build, held during lunch in the sunshine of the quad, celebrated International Women in Engineering Day.
There was an exciting range of hands-on activities for students to immerse themselves in the world of engineering. It saw lots of involvement with students across age groups, getting involved in making streamlined paper rockets and firing them, balloon races along a piece of string, and having fun with the VR headsets.
The Juniors, in particular, showed lots of delight over the bubble experiments where they used different geometric shapes to make different sized bubbles. It was inspiring to see so many younger students getting involved in STEM activities, guided by the enthusiastic older girls and staff.
The event highlighted the value of encouraging girls to explore engineering and creating a supportive environment where they feel empowered and safe to pursue their curiosity in the field.
