March Madness 2024

Kirsty Harris, Head of Netball

At the end of a very busy netball season, our annual fun competition March Madness took place.

The 12 teams competing were comprised of those who had participated in any school netball this year, headed up by Sixth Form captains in a variety of fancy dress outfits. Team names and costumes are always hotly anticipated – and this year’s array did not disappoint: Marriot’s Minions, Josie’s Jungle, Mary’s Little Lambs, and Boorer’s Boxers to name a few! Lucy’s Lions won the prize for the best-dressed team with many handmade tails and manes on display, making playing netball more of a challenge than usual.

Numerous awards were presented at the end of the competition with Chloe (9M) and Greta (7L) winning the Bouncing Bunnies award; ‘Solid as a Rock’ defenders were Talia (8K) and Evelyn (9L); and the Braveheart award went to Daniella (7K). Katie (L6B) and Ceci (11K) demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition, but the Director of Sport’s Award went to Marnie (10J). A special mention to the Shooting Stars winners, Maya (8M) and Shania (8L).

A highly contested final this year finished in a very tense golden goal. Credit to both teams for such a fitting final, but scoring the winning golden goal and becoming the Champions of March Madness 2024 were Blake’s Bakers, with the runners-up Clarke’s Clowns.

Well done to all students who took part and see you next year!

Kirsty Harris, Head of Netball
