Michaelmas term 1 – Sport summary

We have had a spectacular start to Michaelmas term with so much sporting success.

Returning from the summer, we gave a HelKat ‘hoorah!’ for Josie (U6D) and Esme (U6A) who completed their level 2 tennis coaching courses over the summer, as well as Sophie (10L) for passing her Royal Academy of Dance vocational dance exam with a Distinction.

In lacrosse, all of our teams have had a busy season with matches against Queen Anne’s, Berkhamsted, Stowe and St Hughs. However, our senior lacrosse teams were particularly successful at the South West Rally where our 3rds, 2nds and 1sts all made it through to the championships – read the full story.

Our football teams have also seen a flurry of wins. U13s won 3–2 while playing against Larkmead, which they followed up by completing the first round of their county cup with a 5–1 victory. U14 footballers started the term with a 1–0 win against Headington which was followed by a 3–2 win against Oxford High School, before an unlucky loss on penalties against Cheney School. U16s won their county cup first round 4–0 against Headington – well done to Sasha (10K) for her hat-trick. And lastly, our senior football team won 3–2 against St Barts School and 6–2 against St Edward’s.

Netballers had a tough start to Michaelmas term with losses to Queenswood and Latimer, but players picked up the pace with U14A, U15A, U16B and U18B winning their Sisters n Sport Shield round 1 matches. Well done also to our U16s for coming 2nd place in their Sisters n Sport tournament – find out more.

Our Junior, Inter and Senior cross-country teams all progressed to the regional round of the English Schools Cup; special mention to Freya (8L) and Annabel (8K) for achieving 1st and 2nd place respectively. The School also hosted a partnership cross-country event where other nearby schools could compete.

And, in equestrian, Sophie (10J) came 2nd in the National Schools Eventing Championships, Saffy (9K) achieved two PBs in the 100m breaststroke and relay.
