On Thursday 16 January, St Helen’s hosted the annual joint Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) dinner with Abingdon School.
We were lucky enough to have an SHSK Old Girl Claire Harbour speak to us about how languages have expanded her world by offering her many job opportunities.
She speaks an impressive 7 languages fluently and understands many more. This was followed by a lovely sit-down dinner where we were served Bao Buns (which is an SHSK favourite) and crepes!
Abingdon students prepared a quiz which we then completed. Overall, the evening was a lovely opportunity to talk to other language students and have a fun social with Abingdon. Thanks so much to Mrs Burrows and Lauren (U6) for organising this event!
