Prefect reflections 2023-24

Ananya (U6D)

An emotional prefect handover assembly and a moving speech from our outgoing Head Girl Daisy recounting the memories of this last year, gave me the opportunity to reflect on my experience as part of the Prefect Team 2023–24.

From my first day at St Helen’s in Year 6, the Prefect Team donned with their iconic boaters were instantly a group I looked up to and the support they provided through the years was admirable, inspiring me to apply for the process in Sixth Form.

Becoming a part of a team filled with such kind and talented girls has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful for the opportunity! Being a prefect has taught me skills that will undoubtably carry me through the rest of my life and above all has enabled me to interact with both current students and Old Girls, all of whom have shared their own stories and made me proud to be a part of our community.

As my time at St Helen and St Katharine is coming to an end, I am proud to look back on everything we as a team have achieved and given back to the school community. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our year group and the staff – especially Mrs Bedford – for their unwavering support and wish the new team good luck for the upcoming year!
