This year’s Sports Day was, as always, bursting with energy, school spirit and incredible athletic performances.
The hot weather didn’t hold anyone back, with every event running as planned, including the ever-popular 24-woman relay, which saw Duffield take the win. There were exceptional displays of strength, speed and stamina across both track and field events, with several school records being broken. Special congratulations go to:
In Year 6, Coco broke the 600m running it in 2.06.32
In Year 7, Cassie broke the rounders ball throw record by throwing it 50.85m
In Year 8, Chloe broke the long jump with a jump of 4.60m
In Year 9, Freya broke the 300m running it in 44.56
For House Spirit this year, each house was given a five-minute slot to showcase their enthusiasm and energy. There were many creative signs, house-themed outfits, chanting and singing, including a rendition of ‘Dancing Queen’ renamed ‘Dragon Queen’, and even some very impressively choreographed cheerleading routines.
In conclusion, it was a fantastic day that not only celebrated and highlighted athletic achievement but also teamwork and House Spirit.
At assembly on the final day of term it was announced that Hayward House won Sports Day and Duffield House won House Spirit.
