The SHSK ski trip finally visited France in the first week of the Easter holidays with 55 students and 6 members of staff after a hiatus of three years.
The week started with some fresh heavy snow, low temperatures and some great powder days. The weather improved mid-week giving us glorious sunny days – and some interesting tan lines! This turned to rain by the end of the week, but after six days of skiing, the students were tiring quickly and took the opportunity to rest.
During the trip, students were led by ESF instructors for five hours each day and with the gondola opposite the hotel, we truly had doorstep skiing. The hotel had excellent facilities with plenty of food available for hungry skiers and games to keep the students entertained between activities. The small town was very picturesque, and students had time to do some souvenir shopping after returning from the slopes.
Evenings gave way to planned activities for the students to relax and get to know each other with some competitive rivalry between the Year 8 and Year 10 students.
Lots of fun was had by all and there are lots of pictures below to give you a taste. Well done to all that attended; we look forward to visiting La Plagne next Easter.
