Sports Awards Evening 2024

Charlotte Barras, Director of Sport

Footballers, cricketers, netballers, lacrosse players and athletes from across the School all gathered to celebrate an excellent season of sport.

This year, our special guest speakers were SHSK alumnae Phoebe Maslen and Charlie Wilson. Phoebe is the England Netball U21 captain, a Bath Superleague netball player and, in 2023, she captained England U20 to the European championship. Charlie is a former Team GB tumbler who is now focussing on a career in lacrosse; she achieved her first senior cap in 2022.

Our Sports Awards Evening was a chance to celebrate the achievements of our students and recognise their efforts in the sport and activities that are offered at St Helen and St Katharine. After a student-led Q&A with our guests, it was fantastic to hear from our various sports captains and their reflections on the past season.

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to be ranked 4th girls’ school for sport in the country, and 23rd overall, in the School Sport Magazine’s top 200 sporting schools of 2023. We are also the top school overall for sport in Oxfordshire and the only girls school in Oxfordshire in the top 200.
