A huge congratulations to Emily and Isabelle , who won best game concept in the BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition!

BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition celebrates the next generation of game designers. They were selected from a pool of 52 finalists, winning the Game Concept Award which selects the most ‘original and best thought-out game idea’.

Their game ‘Mikka Bouzu’ follows a game designer who lost her passion for art, and must journey through her unfinished games to rediscover her lost creativity.

The game is set across four worlds across a series of levels. Each level requires the protagonist to fix bugs and complete sections of the games, finding her love for art again.

"We hope that our game will be able to provide a way of processing these common and underacknowledged feelings, and that players may work through their own difficulties alongside Mikka's struggles."

"[the game was] made for players who struggle with the difficult transition from child to adult, and the burnout that it often brings."
