U15 cricket secure a second-place finish at National Indoor Finals

In the middle of Beyond Week, our U15 cricket team had an early start as we set off to Lord’s Cricket Ground to take part in the National Indoor Finals.

Eloise’s playlist helped lift the mood on the bus as we prepared for an exciting day of cricket. Our first match was against Kingston Grammar School. It was a challenging start, and despite some solid individual efforts, we came away with a loss. However, we stayed positive, knowing that anything can happen in sport.

In our second match, we faced Taunton and managed to bounce back with a well-deserved win. After that, we had a break for lunch and were lucky enough to go on a tour of Lord’s. We visited the home changing room, the Long Room, the museum, and even got to see the original Ashes urn.

Back from the tour, we had the chance to meet professional cricketers Dani Gibson and Maddy Penna. We interviewed them briefly and were thrilled to get our mini bats signed.

In the afternoon, we played Repton and picked up another win. Heading into our final match against LEYS School, we knew a win would secure us second place overall. We finished the day strongly with a good team performance and secured that second-place finish—out of 935 schools nationwide.

After a quick food stop and some singing on the bus, we headed home tired but proud of what we had achieved.
