UCAS Discovery Day at Winchester

Tate, Sasha and Emilia, Communications, Marketing and Admissions Prefects

Lower Sixth recently spent the morning at the UCAS Discovery Day at Winchester where we were given the opportunity to talk to representatives of over 100 universities and receive advice on making our applications stand out.

By engaging with representatives from the various universities and collecting their brochures, we were able to gain a deeper understanding of course content, extracurricular activities, campus facilities and student support. The subject-specific lectures delivered by experts provided valuable insight into the application process for their courses.

Additionally, there were sessions offering guidance on choosing the right path, writing effective personal statements, and exploring apprenticeship opportunities. Overall, the day offered us a valuable opportunity to discover and investigate various pathways and destinations for further education, along with expert advice on how to successfully pursue them.

‘The representatives of each university were really helpful at providing information about opportunities such as placements and studying abroad.’
Felicity (L6)
‘The university seemed really nice, and I got excellent advice about applying to medicine from both the talks and all the stalls.’
Olivia (L6)
