Students shared their thoughts on the experience:
I really enjoyed working on the Young Geographer poster this year because it allowed me to dive deeper into how geography impacts our daily lives, from a variety of job opportunities to understanding global challenges. It was fun to combine my research with creative design to make the information engaging. Winning first place was a surprise, but I’m proud of the result and how it turned out. This project taught me a lot about time management, staying organised (for example, keeping track of the websites I used), and how geography connects with so many important topics in the real world.

In my poster, I explained key reasons to why people should choose geography, ranging from career choices to more casual reasons you use geography. I thought it was a great way to learn more things, such as researching different things you learn in geography, that you should be aware of, and may not know otherwise. Overall, I thought making this poster was quite fun and expanded my geographic knowledge!
