Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our usual programme of activities has been adjusted/reduced to comply with current government guidelines.
At St Helen’s we place great emphasis on our broad extracurricular programme. Life beyond the classroom here is full. A wide range of sports, clubs and societies, music, arts, drama, educational visits and expeditions are available including Young Enterprise and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. We encourage students to explore their interests and give new things a go. They can participate purely for fun, to broaden their interests or to follow their strengths and excel through selective teams and groups, music and drama productions. We aim to inspire them to develop their learning and experiences, to enjoy all that is on offer and provide them with the space and opportunity to make their own choices and find their own niche.
All activities, with the exception of those clubs involving an external coach or travelling expenses for trips and expeditions, are offered to students free of charge.
Our staff are also very active in sharing their news via blog. Students contribute hugely to The Scoop, our food blog, offering reflections and recipes discovered in clubs and in lessons. Our Head of Athletic Development explores physical and mental health in another blog.
You can get a flavour of all that is on offer in the Beyond booklet below. For this term's activities see the Beyond programme, which includes details of where and when activities take place and who is in charge, as well as a blank timetable for organising your daughter’s weekly activities.
