This year’s Musical Theatre Evening was a theatrical extravaganza of show tunes performed by our talented students as they sang and danced to their favourite popular musicals. Year 10 performers, Katie and Isabelle, tell us about Musical Theatre Club and the lead-up to the fantastic evening.
‘This year was a bit different for Musical Theatre Club as it was mostly student-led by Grace in Lower Sixth. She did an absolutely amazing job with choreography, teaching us the lyrics of songs and making us all smile!
On the night, we had a range of songs with big group numbers such as The School of Rock’s “Stick it to the man” and “Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music, as well as solos and small ensemble items – everyone had such a great time performing. The show was so fun to do, we all had the best time both backstage and on-stage, and we made lots of memories that we’ll carry through school with us.’

‘Musical Theatre Club this year has been great fun with an amazing theme of “Stage to Screen”. Grace has been the best leader, creating so many fun performances that we have all enjoyed being a part of.
Ending the show with a full company rendition of “Stick it to the man” from The School of Rock was a personal favourite of mine where we could all live a childhood dream of crazy ties wrapped around our heads and inflatable guitars, running through the audience! Thank you to everyone involved – I can’t wait for next year!’
